Pungwe Safari Camp is a small, intimate safari camp located in the Manyeleti Game Reserve, South Africa. Situated in the remote and undeveloped southern portion of the Manyeleti Reserve, on the northern border of the Sabi Sand Reserve and the western border of the Kruger National Park. Pungwe is fortunate to have unfenced boundaries with both of these iconic reserves, allowing for free movement of animals between the three reserves. The Manyeleti is renowned for its large concentrations of game and relatively low levels of development, guaranteeing exceptional game viewing with minimal vehicle densities.
The camp features four (yes only 4) en-suite Meru-style tents, each equipped with comfortable beds, hot showers, and paraffin lamps for lighting. These tents provide a cozy, rustic atmosphere that allows guests to feel deeply connected to the surrounding wilderness. Each of the tents offers either twin or king-size options under four-poster style mosquito nets, providing protection and an ambiance reminiscent of a bygone era, further enhanced by the soft glow of lanterns. The camp emphasizes minimal environmental impact while delivering a high-quality safari experience that focuses on the sights, sounds, and smells of the African bush
Activities at Pungwe Safari Camp include guided morning walking safaris and open vehicle safaris during the early morning and late afternoon into the evening. These activities offer close-up encounters with a variety of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and elephant)
Pungwe is also committed to supporting the local community. Over 60% of the staff come from nearby villages, and the camp actively supports local businesses and community projects, such as funding a local crèche and providing meals for children
The all-inclusive rate covers game drives, all meals tea coffee filtered water and transfers between the camp and the local airports
